Archaic Jets coach Walt Michaels died Wednesday, his daughter Mary Ann, told the Wilkes Barre Cases-Leader on Thursday. He used to be 89.

Michaels used to be the Jets head coach for six seasons beginning attach in 1977, going 39-Forty seven-1. He led the Jets to the AFC Championship Sport precise thru the 1982 season. He also used to be the Jets defensive coordinator for the crew that received Gargantuan Bowl III.

Michaels’ time with the Jets ended all precise away when he resigned after the 14-0 loss to the Dolphins in that AFC title sport.

He used to be the defensive coordinator for the Eagles. He also used to be assistant coach for the Raiders. Michaels used to be drafted by the Browns in 1951 and used to be a linebacker for Cleveland thru 1961. The five-time Legit Bowler received two championship titles (1954, 1955) precise thru that span. He did not play again till one sport for the Jets in 1963 below Weeb Ewbank.

Michaels also coached in the USFL for the Unusual Jersey Generals in 1984 and 1985.
